Introducing our Slack Integration
It’s been exciting to see companies around the world use native Basewell integrations like Notion and OneDrive to bring company knowledge into one place. Yet centralizing information is only one part of the employee enablement puzzle—making that information accessible when it’s most needed is the second.
That’s why our industry-leading conversational intelligence is such a critical part of Basewell’s infrastructure. Companies using Basewell AI can deliver reliable, contextualized answers to employees in seconds instead of days: an order of magnitude faster than today’s “standards.”
Yet even the act of moving from one app to another can be friction in your workflow. So, we decided to do something about it. Our solution begins with our official Slack integration, available to all customers right now!
With this Slack integration, employees can query all company information and receive contextualized answers in seconds from a simple slash command in Slack: /ask.
Watch as co-founder and CTO, Darryl Brooks, explains this new feature in the video below, and read on to learn more.
Why Slack?
Slack is one of the few platforms unanimous with workplace communication. Pinging co-workers with questions and searching for information are common practices. Additionally, professionals who use Slack typically open the app from the moment they start working (keeping it open all day long).
This combination of accessibility and deeply ingrained habit made Slack the perfect launching pad for new accessibility features with Basewell.
How does it work?
Like most shortcuts in Slack, you can access Basewell from any channel the app has been added to with /ask, followed by your question.
Once a question is asked, you will be re-routed to your private message channel with Basewell, where your question is saved. Basewell’s responses will populate as the first threaded comment, ensuring information is always easy to find.
Conversations are also saved across Basewell’s platform, so they’re easy to find—regardless of which app you’re currently using. Like questions that originate from Basewell directly, conversation history from Slack is found under activity in your workspace.
What if I’m not using Slack?
If you’re not already on Slack, never fear! All of Basewell’s powerful conversational features are available in-app, and we have more features like this one on the way. Be sure to follow along on LinkedIn or 𝕏 for real-time updates.
What changes for customers already using Basewell’s platform?
We have great news: nothing changes for customers already relying on Basewell’s platform. This feature is an enhancement—not replacement—for the main app. Teams can still use our main app to centralize information, structure content, and ask questions, yet have even more resources available to get answers when seconds matter most.
How do I try this feature?
